First trade fair appearance of WWS Energy Solutions in Sindelfingen

As a young or new photovoltaic company, we had our first successful trade fair appearance at the "HAUS | BAU | ENERGIE Messe 2023" in Sindelfingen. Accordingly, we were listed as a "start-up" for photovoltaic solutions in the list of exhibitors. Although still relatively new, around 5,000 people visited the construction trade fair on November 11 and 12, 2023. As a growing photovoltaic company, we saw a great opportunity to get visitors excited about photovoltaics and future-oriented energy generation. So we registered as a provider at short notice. Our entire team was on site, including the sales team and managing directors, to provide our interested parties with expert advice.

One of our primary goals was to establish qualified customer and business contacts. For the visitors, mainly from the construction and modernization sector, the event offered a good opportunity to meet experts and to further develop and implement their ideas on the subject of photovoltaics.

 

Brief information on the HAUS | BAU | ENERGIE construction trade fair

Haus-Bau-Energie Messe in SindelfingenThe HAUS | BAU | ENERGIE construction trade fair is a series of trade fairs in Baden-Württemberg that takes place at several locations each year. The organizers focus on current hot topics and in particular on sustainable real estate with climate-neutral and energy-optimized energy supply. As a result, visitors are offered a broad spectrum of (regional) specialist companies, consultants and experts. Numerous construction, renovation and photovoltaic companies from all over Baden-Württemberg and the surrounding area will therefore be represented with their stands.

In addition to many trade businesses, visitors to the fair will also meet many consultants and experts for (state) subsidies and financing, for example. This makes the HAUS | BAU | ENERGIE trade fair worthwhile for anyone who wants to find out about energy-efficient construction and renovation, intelligent building technology or modern living comfort, for example. Furthermore, there are often valuable synergy effects between the suppliers themselves. So it's definitely worth stopping by!

Our marketing team completely planned, designed and developed the trade fair in just a few weeks. We came up with lots of extras for all interested parties to set us apart from our competitors and attract the attention of potential customers. Many ideas were very well received and valuable experience was gained, also for further optimization.

 

Info brochure

Our newly designed information brochure conveyed to our visitors how multifaceted WWS Energy Solutions GmbH is and what great added value we offer our customers. It was also important for us to highlight our numerous services (PV consulting and planning, professional installation and commissioning, maintenance and servicing). As a full-service photovoltaic provider, our customers receive all services from a single source when it comes to a (new) photovoltaic system. This also includes our own Photovoltaik-Shop with numerous and affordable products from top manufacturers.

We also printed our blog article on "KfW funding 442 e-mobility" in the brochure, which was met with great interest. We used it to inform many visitors and make them aware of the grant funding of up to €10,200. It was also a great basis for simply explaining important processes and requirements for e-mobility funding.

 

Wheel of fortune campaign

Als besondere Attraktion für unsere Standbesucher, haben wir Glücksrad aufgestellt. Everyone who had registered for the WWS newsletter was allowed to spin the self-designed WWS Energy Solutions wheel of fortune. Das Besondere: Es waren Gewinne garantiert, denn es gab keine Nieten. Der attraktivste Gewinn war ein Gutscheinwert in Höhe 500€.

This main prize was won several times. There were also many special prizes and exclusive WWS merchandise to be won. These included self-designed Advent calendars, mugs, calendars, lighters, etc.. Here we have clearly recognized: The wheel of fortune will definitely be there in future!

 

Professional photovoltaic advice

For all interested parties at our stand, we naturally provided professional and expert photovoltaic advice on request. As our entire team was on site, we were able to provide the right contact person or consultant for all questions.

Even though all the sales staff were involved in customer meetings, our stand was designed to make the waiting time pleasant. We had set up a separate bar for those waiting and for customer meetings, which provided everyone with free drinks.

It was important to us that the trade fair visitors could see the components of a complete PV system live and see the quality for themselves. That's why we decided to make individual or frequently ordered products available. For example, the BYD Battery Box Premium HVS 5.1 battery storage system and the SolarEdge Home Hub SE8K-RWB48 inverter were on display.

Summary of the HAUS BAU ENERGIE MESSE

Our first participation as an exhibitor at the HAUS | BAU | ENERGIE trade fair in Sindelfingen was a great success. Many contacts were made and valuable experience gained. The ideas from the marketing team, such as the wheel of fortune, the new information brochure or the cozy bar, attracted attention and positive interactions with the visitors.

The live presentation of some top products was logistically challenging, but will be carried out (more often) in future. One outstanding success was the direct sale of a complete PV system for a large pitched roof. The trade fair was therefore not only an opportunity for us It was also a platform for generating successful business deals and promoting interest in photovoltaics and renewable energies. New 7.25 kWp complete PV system in Esslingen

In a dynamic world of renewable energies, we are proud to have realized another PV project from Esslingen am Neckar. Our customer was looking for a reliable solution to cover its future energy needs with solar power. After a detailed PV consultation and thorough feasibility analysis, a 7.25 kW complete PV system (pitched roof) was the ideal solution.

The new complete PV system in Esslingen consists of 17 JA Solar JAM54D40-425/MB solar modules, a GoodWe GW6.5KN-ET hybrid inverter and a BYD HVS 5.12 kWh battery. As we are not only a solar company, but also run a large photovoltaic store, the processes (skilled labor, materials, fleet, etc.) were as fast and cost-efficient as possible.

KfW 442 Promotion 2023

The KfW subsidy or grant 442 is aimed at owners of owner-occupied residential buildings with their own electric car. This funding program officially came into force on September 26, 2023.

For better e-mobility and use of environmentally friendly energy sources (Photovoltaic), grants are up to 10.200 Euro possible. The demand for this was so great that all funding for 2023 has already been officially exhausted.

Over 33,000 applications have already been approved for the purchase and connection of charging station, photovoltaic system and solar power storage.For 2024, the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau plans to make another 200 million available for new applications.

So plan your project in good time if you would also like to benefit from the subsidy.

 

Grant up to 10,200 euros

The purchase or installation of a PV or solar system with storage and a wallbox is subsidized by the state with up to 10,200 euros. The aim is for you to charge and drive your electric car with climate-friendly solar power that you generate yourself.

Composition

Voraussetzungen 10200 Euro KfW-Zuschuss 442 Solarstrom für ElektroautosThe maximum grant of 10,200 euros for your electromobility, is made up as follows:

  • Charging station / wallbox
    600 € flat rate and 1,200 € for bidirectional charging capability (current can flow in both directions)
  • Photovoltaic system / solar system
    600 € per kWp and maximum 6.000 €
  • Solar power storage / battery storage
    250 € per kWh of usable storage capacity / maximum 3,000 €

You will receive the maximum KfW grant of 10,200€ by direct transfer to your account. If the costs of your project fall below this amount, no application for funding is possible. Furthermore, this grant cannot be combined with other grants.

 

Requirements

KfW funding 2024 in 3 steps

If you have received KfW approval as of March 2024, you can order charging stations, photovoltaic systems and storage units and commission the installation. Among other things, you will need proof of identity (ideally a Schufa identity check). Otherwise, the following 3 steps apply:

  1. Grant Application
    You apply for your grant before the start of your project in the KfW-Customer portal. Then select the product "Solar power for electric cars" (442). When submitting the application, take into account that the information (output of the photovoltaic system / storage capacity of the solar power storage unit) can no longer be increased after the application has been submitted in the "My KfW" customer portal.
  2. Implement project 
    Once KfW has given its binding approval, you can start your project immediately.
  3. Confirm grant payment
    For the payment of your grant, you confirm the proper implementation of your project in the "My KfW" customer portal. For this, you will need all invoices for the eligible costs and services of your specialist companies. In addition, proof of your electric car (e.g. registration, 12-month existing leasing contract) may be required.

New photovoltaic system for climate-neutral solar power on the beavertail roof of a house in Gundelfingen im Breisgau.

Once again our solar company was in action and provided a complete service for a new PV system:

For maximum solar power output, we installed Recom Lion series 390-watt glass-glass PV modules with heterojunction cell technology (HJT).

Glass-glass PV modules are particularly convincing due to their high durability with excellent power yield. Since, in contrast to glass-foil PV modules, the front and rear sides are protected by glass, they score particularly well with their weather resistance. Glass-glass PV modules offer the following advantages, among others:

The SolarEdge PV Power Optimizer offers an intelligent technology called "Maximum Power Point Tracking". This automatically determines the optimal power for each solar module, maximizing power output. It is easy to install and ideally suited for outdoor mounting.

As a large photovoltaic company and online wholesaler, we serve B2B and B2C customers throughout Germany. After obtaining self-sufficient electricity from our own 115 kWp PV system, we installed two new 11 kW wallboxes for our e-cars. In this way, we will promote the electromobility of our employees as well as customers with climate-neutral energy in the future.

For the proper installation of our two 11 kW wallboxes, it was important to provide a line with correct voltage and current. In addition, the fuse protection of the connection and the installation of a ground fault circuit interrupter was carried out to provide more safety.

This was followed by the installation and connection. We chose wallboxes with a stand for convenient access to the charging plug. After the final check, we successfully put our new e-charging stations into operation.

Basically, household sockets are not designed for several hours of use under permanent maximum load. Cost of an 11 kW wallbox?

As a rule, it is recommended to install the wallbox at a height of about 1.20 to 1.50 meters, so that you can comfortably access the charging plug and the cable does not drag on the ground.

The cable should not be bent or stretched unnecessarily to reach the car, as this can cause damage to the charging cable or the car's connector.

Standards & regulations?

Various standards and safety regulations apply to the installation of wallboxes to ensure a safe and reliable power supply. The most important standards and regulations are:

  • DIN VDE 0100-722: This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles, including fuse protection and protection against fault currents.

Which cars are suitable?

Connection for my wallbox?

WWS Energy Solutions also relies on climate-neutral power supply with a 115 kWp PV system on its own company flat roof. Conveniently, we installed or mounted the solar system with inverter ourselves. PV plant simply explained

A PV system (also photovoltaic system) is a solar power system that converts sunlight into electrical energy or climate-neutral electricity. The attached solar modules or solar cells generate direct current (DC). This is converted into usable alternating current (AC) with the help of a PV inverter. This is finally consumed by the customer or (surplus electricity) fed into the public grid.

Advantages of a PV system

The advantages of a PV system are manifold and clearly outweigh (monetarily) the disadvantages in the long term:

To this end, the German government has taken several measures and passed new laws from which PV system operators based in Germany have been benefiting in particular since January 2023.

Elimination of value added tax

Since 2023, the VAT on photovoltaic systems up to 30kWp and many complementary measures is not applicable. The prerequisite for VAT exemption is that the PV system is commissioned from January 2023. The tax relief also applies retroactively to all revenues from the sale of solar power (up to 30 or 100 kWp) in 2022. The 0 percent tax rate applies to the purchase of a photovoltaic system as well as related components, such as solar modules, solar inverters, (battery) power storage or even the delivery. As a result, there is no longer any difference between net and gross amounts. In the case of PV storage systems, it is possible that subsidies are or were exhausted at the state or municipal level. Attention: Whether a provider passes on the price advantage 1-to-1 or, for example, increases its net prices by 19% is up to each individual. WWS Energy Solutions will always pass on the highest possible price advantage! Other tax points of the new government subsidy are:

  • Tax exemption for PV systems in the garden (instead of on the roof)
  • Balcony Solar (mini solar systems) are always exempt from VAT
  • 0% tax on solar systems with storage
  • Zero tax rate for own consumption of solar power from PV systems
  • No tax liability for small entrepreneurs (small business regulation)
  • PV rental power is tax-exempt if provider is a small business owner

 

Amended EEG

Die Novellierung des Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetzes (EEG) trat am 30. Juli 2022 in Kraft, wobei die meisten Neuregelungen seit Januar 2023 gelten. Durch das Gesetz der Bundesregierung für eine lukrativere Einspeisevergütung, soll der Ausbau von erneuerbaren Energien massiv ausgebaut bzw. beschleunigt werden. Eine wichtige Neuerung ist die deutliche Erhöhung der Einspeisevergütung für (gewerbliche) Solaranlagenbetreiber. Des Weiteren darf man ab sofort den gesamten Solarstrom (100%) ins Netz einspeisen (früher 70%). Wer seinen erzeugten Strom komplett ins Netz einspeist (Volleinspeisung), erhält für 2023 eine konstante Vergütung. So erhalten Eigenverbraucher von PV-Komplettanlagen günstig kaufen, 8,2 Cent pro Kilowattstunde und + 10 kWp PV-Anlagen eine Einspeisevergütung von 7,1 Cent pro kWh. Bei einer 15 kWp-Eigenversorgungsanlage erhält man durchschnittlich 7,8 Cent pro kWh (EEG Stand 2023) Bei einer Volleinspeisung erhält man für PV-Anlagen bis 10 kWp 13 Cent pro kWh und ab 10 kWp 10,9 Cent. Die neuen Vergütungen sollen mehr Anreize schaffen, PV-Anlagen auch bei geringem Eigenverbrauch zu errichten. Letztendlich profitiert man aber, aufgrund von Gestehungskosten, am meisten, wenn man den Solarstrom selbst verbraucht und einen Power Storage nutzt.

Promotion through KfW loans

The KfW Bank (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau), financed by state funds, supports the acquisition of photovoltaic systems for private individuals, companies and public institutions. Interesting are the promotional loans 293, 295 and especially the program "Renewable Energies 270". A low-interest loan (from 4.15% effective annual interest rate - as of 2023) to finance a PV system can be applied for:

  • Acquisition costs
  • Planning, consulting or project engineering
  • Installation
